Overview
When working on retention walls, roadside embankments or any uneven terrain, efficient compaction comes from reliable traction. The 154-hp Tier 4 Final SV216D provides even weight distribution through every rotation, constant drum-to-ground contact, dedicated power to each wheel and drum, and innovative traction control to minimize drift or spin. The result is an industry-leading gradeability of 65%. Along with best-in-class centrifugal force, operators are able to achieve higher lifts and deeper depths in fewer passes.
Features
Purpose-Built Performance
The hydrostatic drive system, with its axle-free design and low center of gravity, has always enabled CASE single drum rollers to deliver exceptional traction on uneven terrain. The D Series has enhanced this with a high-torque HX Drive option and available Automatic Traction Control, which instantly adjusts flow if slippage is detected on the drum or either wheel. This enables operators to climb and compact on grades up to 65%. A 12-degree oscillating articulation joint further helps maintain drum-to-ground contact and with best-in-class centrifugal force of over 73,000 lb., as well as standard dual-amplitude/dual-frequency vibration, the SV216D delivers industry-leading performance regardless of soil or slope.
Common-Sense Fuel Efficiency
As a 16-ton machine dependent on steady strength, an SCR with DPF (Selective Catalytic Reduction with Diesel Particulate Filter) is the smart emissions choice for the SV216D. This efficient, Tier 4 Final after-treatment solution allows the engine to provide maximum power while using active regeneration to avoid unwanted downtime. Simply add DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) at fill-up and operate as normal.
CASE Comfort & Visibility
D Series single drum compactors are available with ROPS/FOPS canopy or cab. Both are isolated from the chassis by shock absorbers to reduce vibrations and provide a smoother ride. The optional cab includes ventilation, heat, AC and radio-ready wiring. Also, for on-site reporting, an ACE Force Intelligent Compaction system and printer is available. The adjustable seat (along with armrest controls) swivels 50 degrees to provide comfortable control and visibility of drum edges, and thanks to the low-profile hood, operators have excellent sightlines when working in reverse.
Simple Serviceability
With a push-button, electric-lift hood and operator platform, as well as ground-level access to routine checkpoints, fill ports, drains, filters and engine components, daily maintenance can be done in a matter of minutes.
